What Think Ye of Christ?

THE LIFE OF CHRIST

Pictures and Descriptions courtesy of Ellie Midgley and Emma Jensen

On Friday, April 3rd, members of  the Welby 7th Ward were able to follow the the Life of Christ.

The World Rejoiced at the Savior's Birth.
As Megan Wilson sang "Mary Did You Know?" accompanied by Stacy Nieves, members were able to ponder how a simple birth in a lowly stable altered the world and changed our lives for good.

Women at the Well
Brother Dean told of a Samaritan woman at a well who was asked by the Savior for water.  This  request took the Samaritan woman by surprise as Samaritans and the people of Judah did not usually work together.  Christ taught the Samaritan of "living water" which offered eternal life.  Because this woman could break free from tradition, she was able to accept Christ and teach others of the living water. We too, have the chance to repent and accept Christ.  Just as Christ was able to forgive a woman taken in adultery and tell her to "go and sin no more," Christ can forgive us as we repent and guide us on the path that leads to eternal life.

Be Ye Fisher Among Men
Brother Talbot interacted with the children and helped them understand the importance of the Savior miraculously feeding 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.  Christ can perform miracles and He can feed our spirits, giving us the nourishment that we need to continue on with our earthly life journey.

The Garden Tomb.....WHY SEEK YE THE LIVING AMONG THE DEAD? HE IS NOT HERE FOR HE HAS RISEN
Teaching with a quiet, reverent voice, Julie Davis taught how Christ was resurrected from the tomb.  How horrible it must have been for Christ's followers to watch our Savior suffer and die as He atoned for our sins. But He conquered death and now we have a living Christ who lives for us.

  1. I know that my Redeemer lives.
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead.
    He lives, my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love.
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed.
He lives to bless in time of need.
  2.  He lives to grant me rich supply.
He lives to guide me with his eye.
He lives to comfort me when faint.
He lives to hear my soul's complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears.
He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my troubled heart.
He lives all blessings to impart.
  3.  He lives, my kind, wise heav'nly Friend.
He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives, and while he lives, I'll sing.
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath.
He lives, and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare.
He lives to bring me safely there.
  4. He lives! All glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
"I know that my Redeemer lives!"
He lives! All glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
"I know that my Redeemer lives!"

After a special musical number of "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" by Brothers Brady, Leva and Smith, our bishop testified of Christ.
Christ lives and we have His example.  Each of us has the opportunity to learn of Him and decided what we think of Christ.  If we see Christ as our living Savior, older brother, redeemer and friend, He will help us through our life's journeys and He will guide us back Home to the Father.
