Relief Society Overnight Retreat

Minute to Win It, Primary Style

The kids stacked dice, covered teachers in post it notes, dropped cookies from their heads to their mouths, and stacked cups as quickly as they could. However, the highlight of the day was most likely the bishopric doing the ping pong ball bounce.  Primary looks like its the place to be on Sunday's.

"A Merit Badge We Will Earn"

Troop 1437

What an amazing group of young men we have in the ward.  These boys were able to go to a week long and earn merit badge, after merit badge, after merit badge.  Combined all the merit badges earn and that were awarded this court of honor was more than 100 merit badges.  This shows the dedication that these young men have.  There were young men receiving their First Class, Second Class, Star and Life Rankings.  We want to thank all of the leaders who went and supported these young men.  As you can see they love what they do.  Parents thanks for all you do for supporting these young men.  Way to Go, Troop 1437!!!

Seth Nielsen was presented his Eagle Scout on August 6, 2016.  Seth actually earned his Eagle Scout on March 6, 2016. With Brother Goff being deployed and one of Seth's scout leaders Seth chose to wait until Brother Goff returned home so he could participate in the court of Honor last evening.  Seth has put a lot of hard work into receiving this honor.  He and his brother are neck in neck with the amount of merit badges they have earned so far.  (It's a race to see who can earn the most merit badges.  Seth vs. Landen)  Seth made it very clear he would win this competition with his brother.  It was a surprise to Sister Nielsen when Seth gave one of his mentor pins to his older brother, Landen and paid tribute to him.  Something we all learned about Seth is about his love of his Scottish heritage.  Something that make this Court of Honor unique was having a Scottish Bagpipe player come and serenade us with some music.  He was amazing!  Seth's cousins showed off  their family heritage with wearing kilts in his honor.
Congratulations Seth on earning your Eagle Scout!!!

Elder Daniel Stoney you have been hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  You are assigned to labor in the Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Mission.  It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months.  You will enter the MTC on August 17, 2016.

Daniel Stoney's Court of Honor

Daniel Stoney was presented his Eagle Scout on Saturday, July 16 by Brother Steve Nielsen.  What a great accomplishment this is for any young man that sets his mind to it.  What a great way to learn of new skills that you may not of learned otherwise.  We want to congratulate Daniel Stoney on this great accomplishment!

Sister Stoney has some "Mad Sewing Skills" that she might even consider sharing with the rest of us scout mothers.  The daunting task of sewing all of the merit badges on the day before I am sure wasn't an easy task.

Relief Society Paint Night

 Painting with Lisa
January 6, 2016

For the January activity, the Welby 7th Ward Relief Society sisters were able to enjoy a relaxing night of painting and chocolate.  What talent!  The sisters in our ward do many things to benefit their own families as they serve members of our ward family and the community in which we live.  Elder Russell M. Nelson said of women, "Frequently, her eager audience requests her talent as a musician by calling upon her to sing—any time, any place. She is an artist, using crayons and coloring books, needles and thread, or other means to create works of art by her own hands. (See Ps. 90:17D&C 42:40.)" How blessed are we in the Welby 7th Ward to witness the creations of our ward sisters.
